We put in a prefabricated catio that we bought and put together ourselves. We placed it and attached it right outside our dining room windows. The cats can go in and out the windows into their enclosed catio. They love it!

Is there no concern for them falling off? 2 of our 4 rescues have no claws

i absolutely LOVE people like you. It drives me crazy when people are like "my cats so annoying" or wondering why their cat is yowling all the time, or just assume cats are there to pat on the head once a day and then just go lay in the sun. THEY NEED EXERCISE. THEY NEED MENTAL STIMULATION. THEY NEED SOCIAL INTERACTION. I dont know why this is still news. So I'm always so happy to see people give their cats full and interesting lives.

New Subscriber here - enjoyed watching several of your videos when I stumbled upon your channel while researching having my cat's teeth professionally cleaned. My cat, Kojak, (a 9 year old Sphynx) has been on a raw diet most of his life. I thought this would ensure good dental hygiene, but unfortunately, that has not been the case - Kojak's teeth look very similar to Mr. Muffin's! I make my own raw food but on occasion I'll treat him to a Cornish hen and he just gobbles that little hen up - bones and all (feel free to stop by my channel and see him enjoying one of his Cornish hen meals). I was wondering if you might be willing to share the name of the vet that you used to get Mr. Muffin's teeth cleaned. I live in the DMV area and have called 4 vets who have all quoted me over $1,000 to get the procedure done. I'd love to make an appointment to get Kojak's dental hygiene issues fixed and just feel like the costs that I'm being quoted are excessive! With regard to feeding your cats raw food - I understand your concern about them getting parasites, but there are some basic guidelines you need to follow to avoid having those sort of problems. Kojak has intestinal issues when eating anything other than raw food - all those problems went away when I converted him to a raw food diet. A slow and gradual introduction from canned food or kibble to raw food is necessary - cats can be very finicky about their food but will gradually develop a taste for raw food. It only took about a week or two for me to convert Kojak to a raw diet when I brought him home from the breeder. Would really appreciate a referral to the vet you used for the teeth cleaning (if you don't mind). In closing, I'd like to also compliment you on the artwork in your home.

FINALLY! a critical thinker!

I had a large enclosure custom built for my 3 cats. It runs along the side of my property and is as long as the house. It’s about 25’x5’ and 15’ high with a double decker insulated cat condo with heated mats inside. They also have multiple perches to climb. It has a walkway that they climb that takes them to a little cat door so they can let themselves in and out. I did this because one of my cats was anxious and was getting in fights in my neighborhood with others kitties and jumping off the 2nd story roof of my neighbors and getting soft tissue injuries and abscess from the punctures from fighting. The stress and vet bills were what made me decide to do it. I have also had my favorite cat killed by a car so I really think they are a great idea for people who have space for it. It’s not cheap to build if you don’t have building skills but saved me a lot a stress and time at my vets office.

i'm glad i life in a neighborhood that my cats can wander around and i don't need to seal my garden. but the post and small houses are interesting.

I value all life. All of it. Everyone should in my opinion. It’s my belief that if an animal becomes injured by your animal that you should morally see to its care. I wish we lived in a world where humans would conduct themselves this way because they care but maybe if we can impress on people that it’s simply the right thing to do, just like if a kid was in your yard and got hurt you’d be responsible for the treatment of that child. We need stronger animal protection laws so so badly. If humans would just live from a place of compassion & and empathy that’d be different but as we know many can’t or won’t. I’m so sorry you had to witness that and had no recourse. I think sharing it with us was at least a way to feel like you were doing something and you were. The only thing you could do was speak out. I appreciate your pure heart. I pray that kitty is ok. Poor baby. 😢

It may very well keep your own cats in . . . but . . . what about other cats being able to get in . . . ? It looks to me that the latter is a possibility.

Thank you for your video. We are trying to help an abandoned kitty in our neighborhood and at the same time try to understand our cat's territorial behavior that makes it impossible to take that kitty in. It's overwhelming and your videos are helping me get some understanding of what is going on. I'm unhappy about this cat being abandoned and hanging out on our porch- we are trying to find the best course- the neighborhood dogs haven't made it easy for this cat either... thanks for your videos~

So the only downside is the cost. The other "cons" were just things that happen when a cat is outside, which is what we want.

My daughters lil guy Beans 🫘 is so demanding 😂 he loves to crawl under the sheets, with a person to cuddle. I love cat sitting my grandfurbaby, it’s a real joy. I have a cat of my own, it’s like raising a child, I have 3 children, so almost the same, only that I can leave the cat alone for a few hours. 😂lol

Thank you for your video! Very informative! We have had many cats who we could brush their teeth and it worked fine! Our vet one time even mentioned how our 19 year old cat had the best clean white teeth he had ever seen! Unfortunately those cats have passed away and now we have a 8 year old cat who was homed twice before we got her and she doesn't like her mouth opened AT ALL! She had some dental problems a couple years ago and actually lost some teeth! I have finally gotten yo where I can get the dirt toothbrush in her mouth a little..but only after I have brushed her fur on the sides of her mouth up by her whiskers on the outside and then getting it in her mouth! No toothpaste tho and I tried the gel too..she just doesn't like it! No om worried tho that after seeing your video that if I'm just rubbing the teeth whith a dry and somfurry brush that the bacteria is going in her mouth! Oh dear! We do give her dry kibble in the morning and then dry kibble with wet food over it at night..I'm worried now as to what to do next...I will have to give it more thought. By the way your cats are adorable! Our is named Joy and she is a gray tabby!

We recently adopted a long-haired cat who we had to shave on both sides. It was like an inch shell... Obviously cat has more problems than just worms. Because 3 weeks after the deworming she's still too skinny and seems like she doesn't groom herself at all. She is going to the vet again as soon as we get back home.

Nice Idea but way two expensive, It's a big no for me. There are cheaper fences out there.

I have an indoor female, Bombay cat that weighs approx 20 lbs. The neighborhood cats hang out in my backyard since I buy 40 lbs of cat food just for them, have a warming house, blankets, and warm pillows where they sleep most nights. A few stay here 90% of the time. I also feed squirrels, 6 to 10 Doves, Hummingbirds, Finches, Wrens, Jays, and other small northern California birds daily. The cats don't bother the Birds since I feed them well. I keep 4 large containers and a birdbath filled with fresh water. Today several Doves, small birds, and a squirrel ate together in a large seed, and corn feeder built on my fence. It's fun to see them share. I would be devastated if a neighbor's dog harmed any of the cats or other critters I care for. I pray the cat will recover. Some people don't have any compassion, which is sad. After I got my cat I fell into listening to the high minded know it alls warning me about commercial food crap,,,,,,wet food dangers......lack of water.....food changing speed.....dry food vs wet food.......versus raw food...... all the ways I uknowingly endangered my cats life by feeding her one way or the other......IT MADE MY HEAD SPIN AND EMPTIED MY WALLET IS ALL IT DID.......One by one I changed my cat food and plates and changed the temp of my food.....(no refrigeraters in the wild...) and used a microwave a few seconds.....(no microwaves in the wild) I slowly added food (no food changing quickly) I went from Friskies supermarket food...to Slows high quality food) ....and all I got is a cat that wont eat anything AT ALL except for Temptations chicken "by products" and water frequently) Is she diabetic?)
